A new calf!

Comet & her heifer calf

Our Milking Shorthorn, Comet, calved this morning - it's a little heifer! She calved just fine - mother and daughter are doing splendidly, learning to know each other.

To read more and see a video of the pair, please check out the new blog section on farmergord.com. (The post is here.)

Finally, we have our own pure, unadulterated, raw milk to drink!

Hello Gordon & Susan --

I just listened to your radio interview, Gord. No, you did not happen to mention that at the time... What a fine interview -- on *both* sides -- you did a great job explaining why you believe in growing things the way you do. It was a pleasure to listen to it.

And now you have the serious job of naming this new critter... Cupid? (but then the next ones really need to be Donder and Blitzen), Cosmos? Chrysanthemum? (but this would probably get shortened to "mum" and that would just confuse things), Cleopatra? Ah, the possibilities...

Looking forward to meeting the new additions to the farm --

Pauline
